WHY JOIN
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organisation that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.
A Toastmasters meeting is a workshop where we learn by practising, and hone our speaking and leadership skills in a supportive environment.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
There are roles for meeting participants to: deliver prepared speeches; practise impromptu speaking; prepare and deliver feedback; conduct meetings and perform functionary tasks that help develop an understanding of timekeeping, language observation, and parliamentary procedure.
Members expand skills through the education programme that includes a variety of self-paced manuals, with advanced manuals covering a wide range of real-life scenarios (after-dinner speeches, television interviews, speaking humorously etc).
